Cervelo New P2 105 Triathlon Bike 2014
Cervelo and the P2 are a match made in heaven. Seven years ago saw the first P2 hit the road and take the triathlon and Ironman scene by storm. Taking Chrissie Wellington to two World Ironman titles and becoming the triathlon bike of choice for professionals and amateurs a like. Seven years later and the boffins at Cervelo have revived the P2, making it faster and more affordable than ever with the new P2 105 Triathlon Bike.
Pretty much using the same frame as it’s P3 bigger brother, the only differences are the fork and colour scheme. The other major difference that keep this bike at such a competitive and attractive price point are the components used. High-end Dura Ace TT shifters have been paired with, just as competent, Shimano 105 and FSA parts.
Cervelo know how to cater for all disciplines and distances with there two holed seatpost pairing perfectly with a specific Cervelo XLab Rear Carrier such as the Delta 300. The two top tube bottle bosses mean you can also attach an XLab Stealth Pocket 300 for all your nutritional needs.
Cervelo realise this is a great entry-level triathlon bike and with such a high quality, race ready frame, you may at a later date want to upgrade parts or the groupset. They have addressed this by making the P2 frame mechanical, hydraulic and electronic compatible.
With racing this bikes forte it has been designed carefully to comply with UCI Federation guidelines, making it the perfect bike for timetrials as well as triathlon and Ironman events.
An amazing range of sizes are available, a very nice touch when a lot of manufacturers offer such limited aero frame sizes. For the smaller rider a 650c wheel has been added to the 45cm frame, perfect for eliminating that awful toe overlap experienced on many small frames.
Finishing kit is provided by Profile with an adjustable aero bar setup, comfortable pads, designed for the most ergonomic, aerodynamic ride possible.
Either Shimano R501 (700c) or Vision Team 30 wheels (650c) have been added giving a lightweight, solid and good rolling resistance set of hoops.
A very comfortable, high quality, triathlon specific Fizik saddle adds the finishing touch to what is a highly competent, fast and affordable, race ready triathlon bike.
Available in a wide range of sizes and a stunning white and blue colour scheme with striking Cervelo graphics.
