Fizik believe that the R3 Arione Braided Saddle is the perfect balance between comfort and performance, the lightweight carbon rails and fibreglass shell provide a light base whilst offering more flex and comfort than Fizik's carbon shelled saddles. The Arione R3 is made using a fibreglass and thermoplastic composite shell that offers an excellent weight to stiffness ratio, but affords a little more flex than the carbon shells found on Fizik's top-of-the range saddles. Wing Flex Technology further aids comfort by increasing flex in the area where your thighs contact the saddle. The foam used on the R3 is also slightly more forgiving for a softer ride than the 00 saddle.

Using Fizik's Spine Concept guidelines, the Arione is identified as a saddle for Snakes. Fizik describe Snakes as people that possess flexible spines, allowing them to hold a more aggressive, low, position on the bike for longer without discomfort.
