Focus Izalco Chrono Max AG2R Time Trial Bike 2016
When a German brand has gone to the trouble of developing a time trial bike for a professional team so that they can compete in the grand tours, then you know it is going to be fast and the Focus Izalco Chrono Max AG2R Time Trial Bike 2016 is certainly that. You will have seen this Izalco Chrono Max helping Romain Bardet secure a top-ten finish at this years Tour de France.
New and improved for this year is the Chrono Max P2T aero Carbon Fork. Thorough testing in the wind tunnel has allowed Focus to better integrate the brake into the bladed forks in a way that guides air past the front wheel and the down tube for dramatic reductions in drag. Similarly, the rear brake is positioned in the ultimate aerodynamic position, under the bottom bracket.
The fully integrated system, incorporating the stem and seatpost into the frameset gives the bike it's wind cheating profile. Inspired design from the legendary Andreas Walser, a man famous for his dynamic, state of the art time trial frames.
A clock-beating bike as good as this demands an equally fast groupset, hence the inclusion of Campagnolo's electronic Record EPS system. Electronics allow for effortless, reliable and precise shifting every time, exactly what you want when you are on your limit. A feature of note is the Campagnolo Bora TT carbon crankset that allows you to cheat the wind even more.
A cockpit that continues the aerodynamic theme; Profile have included their SVET Zero Carbon handlebar that offers comfort and speed. Aerodynamics and time saving components are abundant. Fizik's Ares TT Kium saddle adds style and is designed specifically for those tip of the saddle efforts.
Fulcrum add an Italian touch to the bike, with incredibly fast, stylish and durable Racing Speed 50 millimetre Carbon Tubular wheels that have been further enhanced with the addition of Schwalbe Ironman HT tubular tyres. This adds grip and provides low rolling resistance, ideal for a ten mile time trial, sprint distance triathlon or epic Ironman event.
