HED Ardennes Plus LT Ex-display Wheelset

Wheels of this quality would normally set you back considerably more, but that is not the case for this HED Ardennes Plus LT Wheelset.

Wider rims have been the big thing in wheel design recently, and HED have been leading the way. This Ardennes Plus LT Wheelset features a C2 rim of scandium alloy that measures 25 mm in width. The advantage of wider rims is the tyre profile they produce which gives better grip, faster rolling and improved comfort by putting more of the tyre in contact with the road.

The HED Sonic hubs are also of note, with the front utilising the same carbon fibre hubshells and bonded aluminium flanges as higher models in the range. The rear is bolstered with an aluminium shell. A genius design feature of the rear is the external grease port. This allows fresh grease to be added without having to dismantle the rear hub.

The spoke lacing has been done intelligently to maximise strength but minimise weight. The front features eighteen of the black bladed stainless spokes in a radial configuration, whereas the rear contains twenty four spokes in a two cross lay up.

Included are a set of HED's steel quick-release skewers and airtight rim tape to allow these to also be compatible with tubeless setups.

The fact these wheels come on top end specifications of Cervelo's R5 range speaks volumes for them.

Please note: This wheelset is ex-display and therefore does not come with any of the original packaging or manuals. Skewers and rim tape are included and the wheelset has not been used. Suggested rider weight limit for these wheels is 103 kg (225lb).
