As an all round aluminium wheelset, it does not get much better than the HED Jet 4 Black Standard Clincher Wheelset. With a 46mm rim depth and a 25mm width, the Jet 4 Black's have a lower side drag force than their deeper cousins, yet their rim profile is still incredibly aerodynamic and stable. The carbon skin helps to reduce weight while also providing the rims with a stealthy black profile that will definitely turn heads.

This, the standard version of the wheelset, has 18 spokes on the front and 24 on the rear, offering the perfect all-round performance and stiffness. The spokes are bladed for extra aerodynamic efficiency too.

Where these wheels really separate themselves from the competition is in their braking surface. HED's Turbine Braking Technology is claimed to reduce stopping distances by 25% in the dry and up to 70% in the wet. This sort of braking prowess is ideal for criterium races or long descents as the ability to brake later and with more confidence allows you to carry more speed into the corners.

The hubs are HED's top-of-the-line Sonic Black model. The rear hub is either Shimano/SRAM or Campagnolo compatible and the can fit 9/10/11-speed cassettes. The bonus of titanium quick release skewers and valve extenders being included in the package means you'll be ready to ride right out of the box.
