Each Maurten’s Gel 100 Caf 100 contains 100mg of caffeine, roughly the same as one filter coffee, ideal for reducing the perception of effort or pain during hard training sessions or races. The gel also has 25 grams of carbohydrate, and the ratio of fructose to glucose that it uses (0.8:1) has been shown to increase the body's ability to absorb carbohydrates above and beyond the usual 60 grams per hour, so more energy can be taken onboard. It is suitable for vegans and contains no flavourings, preservatives or colourants, so it's easy on the stomach too.
