CHANGE LOCATION TO OAKHAM

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO AND WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY OF YOUR BIKE SERVICE?

Where possible please drop your bike off up to 3 days before your appointment or no later than 10 am on the day of your service. We kindly ask that your bike be brought to us in a clean state.


We do not offer a specific time slot to carry out the service on your bike. Should you wish to wait while you have your bike serviced please provide us with as much notice as possible. We will strive to get your bike serviced and finished before the end of that day - depending on the availability of spares. If we have to clean your bike, an additional charge of £15 per bike will apply.

Bike servicing: additional parts and accessories

Good communication is crucial to us, so you will get a phone call from the mechanic at the shop to confirm prices with you before any new parts are fitted. We will not continue with any work until we have spoken to you first, so accurate contact details are essential. Any worn/broken bike parts will be disposed of unless otherwise requested. Your bike must be collected within a week of it being serviced or repaired. We reserve the right to charge for storage if bikes are not collected within a reasonable time.

Bike shop deposits

There will be a £50.00 deposit taken by our workshop team to secure a workshop booking. This is non-refundable if the appointment is cancelled wthin 48 hours of the day of your workshop booking. This deposit will go towards your final bill and if your bill is lower than £50.00 you will be refunded the difference.

GOLD SERVICE

£315.00 (4.5 HOURS)

Book Service

Each bicycle will be fully disassembled down to the frame and fork, thoroughly inspected for any damage, cleaned, and prepared for reassembly.

All wheel, headset, and bottom bracket bearings will be examined for wear and replaced if necessary. Ceramic bearings will be cleaned and re-greased according to manufacturer specifications.

Wheels will be inspected for damage and wear, then trued as needed. Tires, tubeless rim tape, and valve cores will also be assessed, with replacements made where necessary. Fresh sealant will be added to tubeless setups.

The chain will be measured to assess wear and evaluate the condition of all drivetrain components. The derailleurs and chainset will be removed, thoroughly cleaned, inspected for wear, and replaced as required.

Electronic systems will be updated to the latest firmware and fully charged.

Brake pads and disc rotors will be cleaned, inspected for wear, and replaced if necessary. Hydraulic brake systems will be bled, and old fluid will be replaced.

All cables, hoses, and electronic wiring will be examined and replaced if needed.

The bicycle will then be reassembled to manufacturer specifications, ensuring that all components are installed and adjusted to optimal performance. This process follows the same rigorous standards as our custom bike builds.

Any necessary repairs or replacements will be discussed with the customer before proceeding unless otherwise pre-arranged. All required parts will be charged separately.

SILVER SERVICE

£245.00 (3.5 HOURS)

Book Service

The wheels, chainset, and bottom bracket will be removed to facilitate thorough cleaning, polishing, and inspection of the frame for any signs of damage.

Wheels will be assessed for wear and structural integrity before being trued as necessary. Tires will be inspected for cuts or damage and replaced if required.

Bottom bracket bearings will be removed, cleaned, and evaluated for wear, with replacements made as needed. Ceramic bearings will be cleaned and re-greased according to manufacturer specifications.

The chain will be measured to assess wear and evaluate the condition of all drivetrain components. The derailleurs and chainset will be removed, thoroughly cleaned, inspected for wear, and replaced as required.

Electronic systems will be updated with the latest firmware and fully charged.

All cleaned and serviced components will be reinstalled and adjusted to manufacturer specifications to ensure optimal performance.

Any issues identified during the service will be discussed with the customer before proceeding unless otherwise pre-arranged. All required replacement parts will be charged separately.

Any additional work needed that is not covered in a Silver service format will be discussed with the customer and if time permitting will be carried out and charged accordingly.

REASONABLE RATES FOR BIKE REPAIRS IN LONDON & RUTLAND

If you have specific repairs in mind, services are charged at £70 an hour in London and £60 an hour in Oakham. Our bike repair shop team work to the nearest 15 minutes, and among the procedures and bike repairs we regularly carry out, are the following:

Apart from our standard servicing, we can do almost anything to a bike that doesn’t involve welding or brazing the frame - that’s still the province of a frame builder. No matter if you want your tyres checked right up to a complete bike build, we can help with most jobs.

Due to the complexities of these three bike types, additional time and work may be required. We are committed to full transparency with our customers and will clearly communicate any necessary repairs or adjustments. No additional work will be undertaken without prior approval.

MUC-OFF CHAIN OPTIMISATION SERVICE

Serious about cycling? The Muc-Off Chain Optimisation Service is designed for those looking to get the most of their bike, eke out extra seconds and smash personal bests.

The two services on offer allow our highly qualified mechanics to recreate the treatments given in the pro peloton and are the same treatments used by the likes of INEOS Grenadiers and EF Education-EasyPost. This programme utilises ultrasonic tanks which work to generate the best performance from all chains, this deep cleaning method will also increase the life of chains.

There are two levels of service available:

Ludicrous AF Chain Optimisation Treatment - At £50 this is the top level of chain optimisation for time trials and race days.

Hydrodynamic 2.0 Chain Optimisation Treatment - At £25 this is the second tier of chain optimisation for everyday riding.

WHEEL BUILDING SERVICE

Handbuilt wheels are built for a purpose. They are built around the cyclist’s needs, wants and the conditions the rider might face on the road, pave or off-road.

All our handbuilt wheels are built in-house at Sigma Sports. We carry a large variety of rims, hubs, spokes and nipples. We will happily order preferred rims and hubs to meet specific requirements. We can also rebuild your existing wheels.

WORKSHOP SERVICING - FAQS

What time would I need to drop my bike off for a service by?

We ask you to drop your bike to us, on the day of the service, no later than 10am. Please ensure it arrives in a clean state or you may be subject to the £15 cleaning charge.

Do you provide a time slot to carry out the service on my bike?

We do not offer a specific time slot to carry out the service on your bike. Should you wish to wait while you have your bike serviced please provide us with as much notice as possible.

Will my bike be serviced on the same day I bring it in?

We will strive to get your bike serviced and finished before the end of that day - depending on the availability of spares we have in stock.

Is there a cost involved, should my bike need to be cleaned ahead of it being serviced?

If we have to clean your bike, an additional charge of £15 per bike will apply.

Should my bike require new parts, will I be informed before these are fitted?

When is the latest time I can pick my bike up, once serviced?

I've got a flat tyre, do you offer bike puncture repairs?

Of course, we aim to provide great value on all repairs and servicing and this extends to puncture repairs. We can replace the inner tube and carry out a tyre check plus provide further advice on puncture prevention.

Do you have bike tools available so that I can carry out my own bike maintenance?

We stock a huge selection of premium bike tools as well as a wide range of components perfect for making upgrades to your bike.
