Broadcaster and Journalist Orla Chennaoui takes Matt Stephens on a tour of Amsterdam in this heart-warming episode of the Sigma Sports Café Ride.
By joining Orla on the school run, Matt instantly understands how integral bike culture is to the city of Amsterdam, as well as the positive influence a cycling city can have on community spirit. What follows is a day to remember for the pair, who have been friends and colleagues for over ten years.
There are plenty of laughs along the way, as well as some really poignant moments as they visit the Anne Frank museum, the Homomonument, and no trip to Amsterdam is complete without witnessing the red light district. But will there be anything left of Amsterdam for Matt to explore after their big day out?

The Bike
Adventuring in Amsterdam requires a specific set of wheels, with versatility being the name of the game. Part of Brompton's 12-Speed bike range, the Brompton C Line 12-Speed Folding Bike was the perfect choice for Matt and Orla's tour of the city. With its compact dimensions making it ideal for the cross city ferry, its easy folding capabilities, offering easy storage at the cafe and the rugged mudguards and Schwalbe tyres proving more than up to the task of providing an assured ride.

The Clothing
Matt's trip to Amsterdam is more like a city break than a Cafe Ride, that’s why he is keeping it casual. And since his guest is the ever-stylish Orla Chennaoui, he's opted for some casual Universal Colours clothing - bringing that Universal Colours style into everyday life - so he can look great both on and off the bike. From the sweatshirt to the fleece and insulated packable jacket to the PrimaLoft® Deep Winter gloves, Matt really was dressed to both stay warm and look the part.
