Specialized S-Works Shiv Disc 2019 Triathlon Bike
The Shape of Speed
With an aim to make the most complete triathlon bike on the planet, Specialized went back to the drawing board when designing the Shiv. Offering the perfect fit, incredible storage capacity and simple travel features, this is much more than just a fast bike.
Kona Ready
Featuring a new nose cone and fork, the Shiv has been cross-wind optimised for the lowest drag possible. The updated design also keeps the centre of pressure in a place that ensures predictable handling. In a nutshell, the Shiv has been tailored to excel at the Ironman World Championship in Kona.
Comfort is Key
Based upon thousands of Retül Fit data points, the four available Shiv sizes have been developed to complement riders of all heights. With 115mm of pad stack adjustment, plus extensive pad reach adjustment, riders can also adopt more aero, aggressive positions, regardless of their body type.
'The fastest bike Kona has ever seen.'
'The Shiv Disc is faster by minutes — plural.'
Uncompromised Speed
Wave goodbye to taped on gels, frame bottles and bags. In the eyes of drag, such additions simply turn a fast bike into a beach cruiser. With the new Shiv Disc, no matter what you carry you’ll still finish minutes faster come race day.
Fast Fuel
With the Shiv Disc, Specialized have created storage and fit features that not only house more fuel than its predecessor but actually make you faster too. The removable and refillable Hydration Fuelcell holds up to 1.5L of fluid, while the Nutrition Fuelcell in the downtube can comfortably house 10-12 gels. Increased storage and improved aerodynamics is certainly a win-win in our eyes.
International races? No problem.
Utilising Specialized’s ‘pack mode’, the Shiv’s handlebar can be neatly folded away and seat post removed simply by loosening five bolts. No longer is there a need to remove the cockpit and disconnect the brakes, this quick job requires nothing other than a 5mm Allen key.
Putting the bike back into ‘race mode’ is just as straightforward, just tighten these same five bolts and you’re ready to ride - no tape measure required.
Make a Statement
Specialized have always sat firmly at the forefront of the market when it comes to unique paintwork, yet with the new Shiv they have truly outdone themselves. This spectacular finish adopts a different tone from every angle, ensuring it has the aesthetics to match its phenomenal performance.
Don't Miss Out
Initially, the new Shiv will be available in extremely limited numbers. Only 500 individually numbered bikes will be released globally, each coming with a custom travel case. Six of these 500 bikes will be making their debut in Kona, while the remainder will be available to pre-order.
