Winter on the mountain bike brings about some incredibly demanding circumstances but the Assos Trail Winter Softshell Jacket combats the most inclement weather conditions with aplomb via a comprehensive blend of attributes.
The highly insulating, 100% windproof and water-resistant NEOS Medium soft-shell material is used on the front, lower arm and upper back panels to protect these forward-facing zones. Moisture management and breathability are vastly accelerated by the use of RX EVO+ fabric on the side, upper arm and lower back panels, enabling the rider to stay fresh and dry despite high exertion levels. A cosy hood that fits comfortably under a helmet and a dropped rear tail section that protects from wheel spray further enhance this jacket’s levels of winter shielding.
This jacket is realised in the brand’s trailFIT pattern that is slim and fitted for a svelte silhouette when on the bike but relaxed enough for when socialising post-ride. Abrasion-resistant patches are added to the elbows to protect these vulnerable zones from scuffs and scrapes. At the same time, a double slider zip configuration allows for increased ventilation when required by enabling the jacket to be opened up cape-style.
A large side zip can be opened to allow access to energy bars and gels stored in jersey pockets underneath the jacket, and a smaller zipped pocket, located on the front right, securely holds valuables when on-the-fly.
