Six gears and a comfortable position help when zipping through traffic and the wide tyres add cushioning against the lumps and bumps of urban roads. The 300Wh battery gives a range of 20-45 miles (30-70km) between top-ups and a maximum assisted speed of 15.5mph / 25km/h, yet a full charge takes just four hours. As it is housed in a separate bag, it's simple to remove the battery from the bike for charging, and there is even a USB socket included for adding juice to a phone or other electronic device on the go.
The integrated lights run off the main battery so there is no need to recharge separately and the mudguards add protection when riding on wet roads. As with all Bromptons, folding it up for carriage or storage is a matter of moments so it is easy to take on a train or store in a small space.
