40 years of aluminium bike building expertise goes into the creation of the latest in the Cannondale CAAD line-up; the CAAD13 Disc Frameset is constructed from light and stiff SmartForm C1 premium alloy that's paired with a BallisTec carbon fork. There have been a number of upgrades, improving both performance and versatility. Drag is reduced thanks to the use of truncated airfoil tubing - that seen in the SuperSix Evo - and the frame, fork and seatpost have a fully integrated design using the SwitchPlate cable management system for both aerodynamics and a sleek, clean look.

A slightly taller stack and shorter reach than its predecessor gives this bike a racy feel that's suited to a wider range of riders and, together with the careful distribution of material, brings low weight and stiffness exactly where required; handling is responsive and precise, and power transfer instant. Despite these attributes, the CAAD13 won't feel harsh; the seatstays have been dropped, improving compliance so road shock is effectively absorbed.

On this disc brake model, there's space for tyres up to 30mm wide, plus mounts for mudguards, making this bike fully capable through all four seasons.
