What goes into a light weight and stiff design?

The R-Series showcase Cervélo’s second generation Squoval™ tube shapes, optimized 1 3/8” tapered steerer, SmartWall™, and BBright™ technologies—all designed to enhance stiffness where it matters for better handling and power transmission and to reduce excess weight at the same time, for optimum lightness and comfort.

KEY TECHNOLOGIES

• BBright - BBright optimizes system stiffness and weight while allowing for the largest range of crank compatibility in a modern press fit system.
• Optimized Tapered Head Tube - Larger lower head tube dimensions offer an improvement in stiffness and handling. However, it is not as simple as 'bigger is always better'.
• Ultra Thin Seat Stays - Shapes and materials can add stiffness where it counts. They can also be designed to take stiffness away from where you don't want it.
• Squoval - Setting new standards meant re-imagining traditional shapes. By redesigning tube shapes, we make huge advances in frame performance.
