The aerodynamic performance of these wheels has been meticulously refined, with aero rims, spokes, and hubs designed down to the finest detail. However, to further optimise the wheel-tyre system (WTS), an aerodynamic tyre became essential. When no existing tyre could meet the demands for low aero drag and balanced handling, Swiss Side and DT Swiss took matters into their own hands. Their established partnership led them to Continental, which contributed advanced rubber technology. Together, they developed the AERO 111 front wheel tyre, a seamless fit for the wheel design that establishes new aerodynamic standards.

The tyre's surface incorporates 48 small cavities, known as vortex generators, which are designed to manage turbulence in the airflow around the front wheel. This innovative feature reduces drag across the entire wheel-tyre system, resulting in a more efficient and streamlined ride.
