They aren’t claiming to be the lightest, nor be the deepest wheels ENVE have ever produced, but the ENVE 7.8 SES Clincher Wheelset lends itself perfectly to the role of giving the maximum aero performance possible whilst also being the most stable. The 71mm deep and 29mm wide wheelset is perfect for the experienced triathlete or road rider who’s seeking a bit more manoeuvrability with a highly aerodynamic rim.
Each 7.8 SES Clincher Wheelset is handmade in Utah, from 100% raw, uni-directional carbon. This keeps the wheels as lightweight but as strong as possible, weighing in at an impressive 1442 grams for the pair, including titanium skewers. Plus, being hand-built in their own factory, ENVE is able to keep a close eye on the production which ensures you always get the very highest quality - guaranteed.
ENVE have gone to the next level to increase this wheelset's rolling speed, aerodynamic performance and reduce its overall weight by using low weight ceramic bearings in their carbon hubs. Weighing only 74g (front) and 158g (rear), these ENVE hubs come in lighter than their main rivals, and with a complete ENVE manufactured lineup, from rim to hub, you’re sure to push yourself to the next level.
Featuring ENVE’s latest moulded in carbon brake track texture, the ENVE 7.8 SES Clincher Wheelset's brake surface provides a substantial improvement in stopping power by as much as 30% and performs equally in the wet as in the dry. Perfect for those race days when the weather can’t make its mind up.
The SES Clincher Wheelset features asymmetric rim geometries front to back, with a rear that’s 80mm and 27.5mm wide, whilst the front is shaved back to 71mm deep and 29mm wide - done to create a more aerodynamic shape. Optimised for 25mm tyres, you’re sure to see dramatic gains when riding with the ENVE 7.8 Clinchers.
