Fizik Transiro Aeris Adaptive R3 Short Distance Saddle
Thanks to its 3D-printed padding with engineered zonal cushioning, the Fizik Transiro Aeris Adaptive R3 Short Distance Saddle ensures maximum stability and support for time trialists and triathletes requiring an optimal platform from which to produce power while in forward, aerodynamic riding positions. Equipped with R3 7x7mm kium rails.
Fizik Adaptive 3D-printed padding has been extended to the Aeris family, creating the perfect match for those who desire exceptional, long-lasting comfort in a triathlon/TT bike saddle designed to provide greater support and stability when riding in forward, aerodynamic racing positions.
The evolution of digital 3D printing has allowed for the development of a new saddle without the constraints or limitations imposed by traditional production methods and materials. The Adaptive saddle padding is crafted by Carbon® using their revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis™ technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process that uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen-permeable optics, and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties, resolution, and surface finish.
Using Carbon® technology, biomechanics and engineers have an unprecedented opportunity: to design and manufacture multiple functional zones within the saddle, tuning each of them separately for specific mechanical properties. Each of these key functional zones is engineered for distinctive cushioning and mechanical response, joined together progressively and seamlessly in the same padding. The result? A 60% reduction in peak pressure through improved weight distribution for increased comfort across the entire saddle surface.
Innovation in bike-fitting analysis alongside research on cycling aerodynamics led to a rethinking of Fizik's triathlon and time-trial saddles. In a field where marginal gains are fundamental, providing a saddle that allows comfort in the most extreme aerodynamic positions represents a leap forward in performance achievement.
The Short-Distance version of Aeris Adaptive is engineered to provide support and stability for athletes competing in both time trials and short-course, no-draft triathlons. The properly dimensioned nose and specific functional zones on the 3D-printed padding provide balanced performance, allowing riders to produce maximum power while in forward, aerodynamic positions.
One of the many benefits of Adaptive technology is that it allows the incorporation of a soft central functional zone, rather than a cut-out, improving weight distribution for better pressure relief to increase comfort in the most extreme aero riding positions. At the same time, the surface of the padding offers a no-slip grip that avoids unnecessary movement which can compromise performance.
Aeris comes with an optional link to integrate a water-bottle cage onto the rear of the saddle. The link is designed to hold bottles at an angle that is out of the way during the critical mounting and dismounting phases at transition zones. Complying with UCI rules, Aeris is equipped with a revolutionary rail insertion that not only provides a more aero feeling but also allows for a broad range of adjustability, necessary to achieve the ideal forward position to beat the wind.
