Fulcrum Racing 7 Clincher Wheelset (Black)
The Racing 7 has been redesigned to meet three goals, reduce its weight to under 1850g, increase its responsiveness and to remain at the same price. Fulcrum has managed to hit these mammoth targets with the wheelset weighing 1750 grams. A new hub design gives a more responsive wheel whilst keeping the same price.
The new hub uses an aluminium body and is designed for linear pull spokes. The addition of a large flange on the driveside of the rear hub reduces spoke length and therefore stiffens the wheel by reducing rim flex caused by the slackening of the drive side spokes. This is further bolstered by Fulcrum's Two-to-One lacing design, where the spokes are in effect doubled in the critical area. With two spokes carrying the function of one, there is reduced slackening of the wheel and therefore greater energy transfer. In the rear there are 24 steel spokes, 8 on the left and 16 on the right in accordance to the Two-to-One technology. The front uses 20 radially laced steel spokes.
New is a wear indicator on the Racing 7 rim.
Racing 7 wheels are available in black and are compatible with Campagnolo, Shimano/SRAM drivetrains.
