Description
If you are a cyclist at any level who is looking to boost your performance and training routine then you need a cycling computer. What better place to start than the feature-packed and most popular computer in Garmin's range; the Edge 500 - Black.
The Edge 500 comes in a nifty lightweight design that attaches easily to your handlebars with a low-profile and streamlined bar mount (not included). Getting started has never been so easy, simply power on, acquire GPS satellites and go. The Edge 500 utilises Garmin's revolutionary HotFix® satellite prediction system to calculate your position faster so you don't have to wait ages for the device to calibrate.
When you get riding the Edge 500 will make you wonder how you ever got by without it before. The unit measures speed, distance, time, calories burned, altitude, climbs and descents and gradient. All of this data is available on screen during your ride or to review through Garmin Connect or many other up-loadable services, like Strava, after your ride.
Any ANT+ enabled power meters (sold separately) can integrate seamlessly with your head unit so you can see your wattage while you ride. ANT+ heart rate monitors (sold separately) can also be connected to the Edge 500 for an all-round revolution to your training and racing regime.
Other helpful features include the Courses feature, which helps you compare rides you do over the same route enabling you to track your progress. Auto-Pause, Auto-Lap and temperature readings also further enhance the experience so you'll never be short of data.
When you get back home, the Garmin Edge 500 is easily connected to your Mac or PC with the included USB cable, allowing you to analyse your efforts through Garmin's massive world wide network of cyclists. From here you can also upload your rides to third-party services such as Strava or Endomondo.
Overall, this neat little device will revolutionise the way you ride - a must-have for any keen cyclist looking to take his or her riding to the next level.
