Kinesis Racelight TK3 Frameset

Kinesis have introduced the Racelight Tk3, a perfect frameset to clock those winter miles on.

It’s not just the colours that are new, the big news for this frame is the unique new ‘Tracer 1.5' monocoque carbon fork with 1.5" taper steerer and clearance for large tyres and full mudguards.

As far as I know, there is no other fork like this available. This fork, combined with the new taper head tube, transforms the handling and braking of the Racelight Tk3 and brings it totally into line with your modern, summer season race bike. The gentle inward curve of the fork blades matches the 'hourglass' profile of the rear stays, helping to add comfort and tune out vibration.

The top tube is ‘power bulged’ at the headtube for maximum stiffness and the oversize, thin-wall down tube is aero section at the top and ovalised where it meets the BB for maximum weld area and response. The ‘anti roadshock’ seatstays give maximum comfort for long training rides and the oversize chainstays and large downtube area at the BB keep power loss to a minimum.

The Racelight Tk3 has rack mounts and ample clearance for full size mudguards* and up to 28c tyres (long reach, 47/57mm brakes required).

Technology

• Fork: 'TRACER 1.5' Full monocoque, Unidirectional [UD] carbon fork with mudguard eyelets, clearance for full size mudguards and 28c tyres. Included.
• Kinesium: Developed by Kinesis International, Kinesium is a superb tubing for use in lightweight, high performance frames. Kinesium is enhanced 6000 series Aluminium alloy, which is 25% stronger than 6061 at the same weight level.
• Power Bulge: ‘Power Bulged’ top tubes and seat tubes give maximum area at the head tube and BB for ultimate stiffness and response.
• Ultra Smooth Weld Profile: This frame is joined using Kinesis developed smooth weld technology, giving tough, stress-free welds and clean appearance. The welding technique performed without secondary finishing or sanding, so weld bead and tube are left at full strength.
• Tuned Stays: The 'Anti Roadshock', 'hourglass' bend, seat stays are butted and shaped to give maximum comfort for long hours in the saddle.

Note: The frames in the Kinesis range are designed to take mudguards with a 39 – 49mm brake are designed to take up to a 25c including full size ‘guard, although clearance does depend on the brand of mudguard/tyre fitted. Some mudguard mounts extend down further than others and some tyres are considerably taller than others. So, when fitting 25's full ‘guards, a little experimentation may be required! Frames designed for a 47-57mm drop brake will take up to a 28c with full ‘guards. Some tyre brands have a much higher ‘aspect ratio’ [e.g. some Continental tyres] Please contact us if you are not sure.
