New for 2015 and packed with a range of state of the art features, the POC Octal AVIP MIPS Helmet is an exciting addition to the Swedish company's range. Quickly being adopted by a number of the leading helmet companies, Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) technology has been added to reduce the rotational forces placed on the brain in the case of an impact.

Protective but also designed with performance in mind. The Octal AVIP MIPS weighs just 215 grams in the medium size, so is the ideal option for hilly and mountainous races and sportives.

As well as MIPS, further protection is provided with an Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) liner, which is designed to be thicker in the crucial areas prone to impact. This liner is covered by a polycarbonate (PC) outer shell that provides more coverage to vulnerable areas, such as the temples, and provides more coverage than rival helmet brands.

Overheating is a thing of the past with the Octal AVIP MIPS as the designers have added numerous vents and channels to help keep you cool.

A Coolbest padding system further enhances airflow and moisture control, so reducing the temperature between the helmet and your head.

The Octal is a helmet of beauty, with integrated straps moulded into the liner give the helmet its clean and streamlined look.

The POC Octal AVIP MIPS Helmet has a wrap around, full head protection fit, helped by the minimalist, simple yet highly effective retention system. This allows the rider to dial the fit to their exact personal preference.

AVIP is POC's Attention, Visibility, Interaction and Protection system. This is designed to add visibility and improve safety. POC have produced the Octal AVIP in a bright hydrogen white and a zink orange colour and added an In Case of Emergency (ICE) tag barcode. This barcode allows you to register your personal data on your helmet, so in the unfortunate case of an accident the emergency services would, with the required app, be able to pick up all your vital information.
