POC Octal Aero Helmet
Based on the fantastic POC Octal Helmet, for those looking for that extra aerodynamic advantage, POC have created the Octal Aero Helmet. Featuring a durable, fast and stylish covered design, ideal for road, timetrials, triathlon or Ironman events and for those who want unparalleled speed gains.
Only slightly heavier than the Octal, the Octal Aero is the helmet of choice for Garmin Sharp Professional Cycling Team for those fast, windy early season Classic’s in Belgium and for that aerodynamic advantage, in a sport where every second counts.
With all POC helmets, safety is of paramount importance. The Octal Aero is POC’s top of the range helmet, used by the likes of Tyler Farrar and Daniel Martin, this helmet is fast, lightweight and a stylish way to keep your head protected.
Protection is covered by a specially constructed EPS liner, this is thicker in the crucial areas prone to impact. This liner is covered by a PC outer shell that provides more coverage to vulnerable areas, such as the temples. This provides more coverage than rival helmet brands.
The uni body shell construction is incredibly strong and results in a very lightweight helmet, a mere 215 grams in it’s medium size.
Garmin Sharp Professional Cycling Team have a detailed list of requirements for their equipment and expect them to perform at their best day after day. The Octal Aero Helmet does just that, keeping the rider aerodynamic but also well ventilated, courtesy of carefully positioned air vents, channelling air flow, keeping your head cool, especially important for the Garmin Sharp guys when they race in the heat of the Tour de France.
A Coolbest padding system has been installed on the inside of the helmet. This further enhances airflow and moisture control, so reducing the temperature between the helmet and your head.
The design of this futuristic looking helmet has won POC many fans and awards. The seamless integrated helmet straps moulded into the liner make for clean and unobtrusive profile.
The POC Octal Aero Helmet has a wrap around, full head protection fit, helped by the minimalist, simple yet highly effective retention system. This allows the rider to dial the fit to their exact personal preference.
Keeping all eventualities covered POC have added the ingenious ICE tag barcode. On the rear of the helmet, this simple idea allows you to register your personal data on your helmet, so in the unfortunate case of an accident the emergency services would, with the required app, be able to pick up all your vital information.
Finally visibility in this day and age is high on everyone’s list of requirements. POC have used bright colours and reflective panels to make you stand out, whether riding in bright sunshine or in low, evening light.
One of the most eye-catching and different helmets on the market, the POC Octal Aero Helmet is new, exciting and perfect for road racing, sportives, timetrials, triathlons, ironman events, evening training sessions or weekend riding.
