Rapha Lombardia Long Sleeve Jersey
The Rapha Lombardia Long Sleeve Jersey harks back to a heroic era of cycling. 1909 saw the potential showdown between two of the biggest names of the day, Giovanni Gerbi (known as Il Diavolo Rosso, the ‘Red Devil’) and Giovanni Cuniolo. The two were the biggest rivals of the time and their fiercest battle was set for the 1909 Giro de Lombardia, or as it was know at the time, the Criterium d'Autunno.
Of the 363 starters, Gerbi was destined not to be among them, his schemes this time undone by a bout of flu. So, it was Cuniolo who rode home first. This classic-style jersey celebrates the 1909 Giro di Lombardia and Cuniolo’s famous victory.
Constructed from Sportwool fabric, the Lombardia Long Sleeve Jersey is highly breathable and comfortable making it perfect for long, Cuniolo-inspired days in the saddle. Details abound, including Lombardia 1909 embroidery on the central rear pocket and Manina-inspired insignias on the right arm and left breast.
A classic Breton-inspired collar adds further retro flare, while the evergreen colours reflect the jersey's autumnal heritage.
