Offering huge speed in a very versatile format, Roval’s Rapide CLX II Disc Front Wheel is light, aerodynamic and very strong, building on the success of the previous version.

Compatible with both tubed and tubeless tyres thanks to its hooked design, the rim has also been made fractionally smaller in order to make mounting difficult tyres easier. It has a very wide, blunt profile with a massive external width of 35mm that marries up well with wide modern tyres to better smooth the airflow over this area. Roval says that as a complete wheelset, the Rapide CLX II is faster than most 65mm deep options yet is 25% more stable than their own CLX50 in crosswinds. In particular, attention was paid to ensuring that the handling remained predictable when subjected to gusts of between 0.5 and 2 seconds, as these are the conditions that cause riders the most problems.

Inside the Aeroflange hub is the internals from DT Swiss’ premium 180 hub, with SINC ceramic bearings for low friction and exceptional longevity. Completing the high-performance build, DT Swiss’ lightest and most aerodynamic spokes lace the wheel together.
