The Shimano RD-M9000 XTR GS Medium Cage, Shadow Direct Mount Compatible is the flagship rear derailleur in Shimano's extensive mountain bike range. An 11-speed system, which balances exceptional shifting performance with rugged durability. The Direct Mount attachment fits a range of frames and gives the derailleur it's clean look.
Effortless gear shifting is possible with the Shadow technology. This places the derailleur in the optimum angle for smooth shifting. Shadow also keeps the chain in place over rough terrain, stabilising it, so improving gear change.
There is nothing worse than a noisy drivetrain, so the inclusion of a single tension spring is a welcome one, as it works to keep the chain away from the chainstay.
No problem catching long cables on overhanging debris, with the direct cable routing.
A high performance unit, the carbon fibre outer pulley cage is lightweight and features a stiff alloy inner cage, which improves reliability.
This tough derailleur uses cold forged alloy links for added durability and the powerful return spring gives a positive shift response.
