Weighing only 108g, you would expect Speedplay to use full-plastic locking edges on their pedals, but thanks to their high-grade construction, these pedals use metal for enhanced durability and locking strength.

Please note: Speedplay also offer a Light Action range of Zero pedals, which might be preferable for lighter riders (around 60kg or less), as they require less force to engage the cleat with the pedal.
