Trek Checkpoint SL5 Disc Gravel Bike 2021
Trek’s Checkpoint SL5 Disc Gravel Bike combines a carbon frame with many flexible mounting options and Shimano’s GRX groupset for a highly versatile bike.
The 11-speed groupset is gravel-specific, so uses a 46/30 tooth chainset and 11-34 cassette to provide plenty of ratios for heavily laden climbs as well as fire road blasts. Shifting is as accurate and sweet as ever from Shimano, whilst the GRX flat mount hydraulic disc brakes are equally capable of dealing with a variety of weather conditions.
At the centre of the bike is the 500 Series OCLV Carbon frame which features Trek’s IsoSpeed technology. This allows the seat tube to move independently to the top tube and provides a greater degree of compliance than would otherwise be possible without compromising the frame’s stiffness and efficiency. The IsoZone handlebar also acts to protect the rider from fatiguing vibrations so that the bike can be both comfortable and fast. A multitude of mounting points allow for luggage, racks, mudguards and bottles to be carried in various configurations when venturing far from civilisation, but it can be stripped back for local loops or daily commuting duties.
The tubeless-ready Bontrager GR1 Team Issue tyres are a good all-round option but the frame has sufficient clearance for 45mm rubber to be fitted if necessary for more grip or comfort.

Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
