This year saw another increase in the number of people at the Ironman World Championships in Kona benefiting from the drag-defying performance of a Trek bike, so make sure you get the very best of the best with the Trek Speed Concept 9.9 Triathlon Bike 2016. This highest performing of triathlon bikes is used by multiple World Champions, but have no fear, the race ready position is also ideal for time trialists as well.

Lightweight and stiff, the premium 600 Series OCLV carbon fibre frameset uses Kammtail Virtual Foil tubing, which improves aerodynamic efficiency in the wind and improves stability. The Speed Fin design further improves speed and the DuoTrap compatibility means you can seamlessly integrate with a bike computer.

The full foil carbon fork offers pin-sharp handling and seamlessly integrates the brake and gear cables for a 30% reduction in surface to the wind whilst also saving weight. Unlike others though, these are fast and easy to build or adjust.

Riding fast is a great feeling but stopping fast is equally important. The Bontrager Speed Limit integrated calipers are combined with Bontrager Race Lite Aero levers to offer excellent all weather braking performance, something that is helped by the Speed Fin, as well as cheating the wind by acting as an aero rear-wheel fairing. The brakes are still invisible though as the only front and rear brakes to be built directly into the fuselage.

Often bikes that have gone to the efforts that Trek have with this Speed Concept to be aerodynamic end up weighing too much to be of use. However, features like moulding into the frame every integrated part to remove un-necessary material keeps this effortless to ride.

A bike this good could only be finished with Shimano's range topping Dura Ace Di2 eleven speed groupset. The electronic shifting will be the only thing that can keep up with you on this bike. The final aerodynamic touch comes in the form of the Bontrager Aeolus 5 D3 Tubeless Ready wheels.

Do not overlook the included Draft Box II though, which sits over the rear wheel to provide a handy storage solution which actually makes the bike more aerodynamic than it is without it!

The all over stealth black finish adds to the advanced look of this stealthily fast bike.
