Rotor is well known for their ingenious ovalised rings, stylish and high quality. It is great to know then that the guys from Spain have now produced an equally high quality crank for the perfect finishing touch to your Rotor setup. The 3D Road Cranks were developed with the help of Cervelo Test Team, one of the world’s leading professional cycling teams. The riders gave Rotor a bit of a challenge, to develop a crank that is stiff enough for the powerhouse sprinter Thor Hushovd, strong enough for the cobbles Heinrich Haussler would punish them on and light enough for the climbing superstar Carlos Sastre. Rotor achieved all this with the 3D Road cranks.

Following on from Rotor’s first foray into the crank arm market, with the Agilis Evo, they have refined the crank, moving the fixing points to the left crank arm and placing the axel on the drive side. To prevent over tightening, the 3D cranks come with a replaceable threaded sitting between the crank and the bolt. This means if the bolt fails due to overtightening, the crank is not affected and is easily repaired.

Incredibly stiff and lightweight due to a unique Trinity Drilling System, starting with a bar of CNC machined aluminium that has three holes drilled the entire length of the crank arm. This removes excess aluminium, losing unnecessary grams, yet maintains the immense strength and stiffness.

Fitting the crankset is a piece of cake due to the Dual Thread Technology (DTT) fixing bolt which attaches to the non-drive side crank to the axle. Two pitched threads tighten on a single bolt for a secure fit.

A steel axel provides a durable and hardwearing core with laser-etched graphics finishing this crank off perfectly.
